Gender Justice
Gender equality
Gender equality is also known as sexual equality. Which means the equality of the sexes. It is equal access to resources and opportunities regardless of gender. Equal participation in the decision-making and being able to execute these decisions regardless of gender are some key features of gender equality.
Sexism
Gender stereotypes
According to the European Institute for Gender Equality, gender stereotypes means “Preconceived ideas whereby females and males are arbitrarily assigned characteristics and roles determined and limited by their gender”. Gender stereotypes limit the abilities, natural talents, skills, and capabilities that reside within boys and girls. It will also limit the opportunities and experiences they can have. Several factors can influence gender stereotypes. The main factor is the family and society. The environment where the child is raised determines his attitude towards gender stereotypes. Gender stereotypes impact how they interact with their peers and how they develop relationships between their peers.
Reducing racial and ethnic prejudice
We need to produce principles and guidelines to reduce racial and ethnic prejudice. We need to raise public awareness regarding racial and ethnic prejudice. Increasing more contacts with social groups and building new relationships between these social groups will help to minimize this factor. We need to make aware people of the inconsistencies in their own beliefs. By exposing people to a more positive image of other racial groups will minimize racial prejudice. To reduce this matter, we need to consider the children. By helping kids to develop cross-group relationships helps in this matter.
